Mindful Consumption

Pillar No. 2

Declutter what you take in.

You don’t need to Marie Kondo your entire house this weekend. But you can clean out one shelf or drawer, and take an exhale when you’ve finished. You can put the phone down while you eat - even if you’re at a lunch counter by yourself. You can unsubscribe from email lists and social media. Please, do we need all of this constant information? Is it helping?

Mindful consumption isn’t just about stuff - it’s about your energy, most of all. Who are you spending time with? What kinds of content are you taking in? How do you feel?

Try a simple practice. At the end of the day, ask yourself, “Did what I consume today nourish or deplete me?” Eventually, you’ll begin to act on what you have noticed.
